Hey everyone! Today I want to share my take on Abrams—the most iconic character from Deadlock and my personal favorite. There’s something about his rugged charm, relentless endurance, and sheer presence that just clicks with me.
Originally, I planned to recreate him in a stylized way, focusing on exaggerated shapes and bold details. But as I worked, I kept feeling pulled toward realism—something raw and gritty that would do justice to his tough-as-nails personality. So I shifted gears and dove deep into sculpting, refining the topology, and layering in fine details like skin wrinkles (thanks to TexturingXYZ) to bring out that weathered, battle-hardened look.
The textures got special attention to make every scratch and scuff feel earned, while XGen helped bring his hair to life with natural flow. For the final touch, I modeled his clothing to match his powerful stance and rendered everything in Unreal Engine 5 to let those subsurface and material details really pop.
